Horticulture has been business of Saonara farmers for more than a century.
Local companies have been active in the plant nursery sector for many generations and is an excellence in the production, especially, of rose gardens and fruit trees.
Many varieties and species of fruit trees are cultivated in Saonara district , starting from the seed to the growth, mainly in open field:apples, pears, plums, peaches, cherries, apricots, figs, Diospyros kaki, pomegranates, kiwis, grape vines and berries.
The entire production undergoes regular checks by technicians from the Veneto Region’s Phytosanitary Department, who monitor the plants and certify that they are fit for sale in accordance with European regulations.
